This was the pet portrait assignment. My favorite one yet! I had so much trouble trying to figure put what picture to use because I have thousands of animal pictures that I want to draw. After a couple sketches of some of the pictures I decided on the picture of my boyfriend's chihuahua, Riley, because I love the photo composition and the bright contrasting colors. The first picture is of the quick sketch I did when I was trying to decide on which animal picture to draw, the second is my almost finished final drawing, and the last is the done piece. In the original picture the dog is sitting on the seat in a car and the colors are black and off white, but I decided to use blues instead because it would compliment the blue in her collar and make the dog itself pop out more.
