I did this drawing with Prismacolor colored pencils on black paper. The original picture had a very dark, almost black background, so I wanted to keep it as close to that as I could. This was actually one of my favorite pieces because I love doing harsh light/shadows on black paper because it gives it an awesome look and because this was my first drawing of a cat and was a challenge. I was very afraid to draw the whiskers because if they get messed up, they can't be fixed and the whole piece looks bad after that. After I had everything done, I looked back at it and wished I could get the white whiter in certain areas. Then I was told about a gel pen that could color over colored pencil. So I got a white gel pen and whitened up the bright white areas of harsh lighting, and after it was done the whole piece really popped.
