This is one of my free choice projects and I started to focus on my concentration work. My concentration is capturing the personalities of animals through their portraits. This drawing is of one of my Britannia Petite rabbits. It's actually a combined drawing of two different pictures of the rabbit. The first picture was just the pose of the rabbit so I could get a good idea of the shape I wanted to draw, the other was a picture where there was heavy lighting and it made a nice shine on the rabbit. I decided to use black paper for the black rabbit because of the "pop" it gives the rabbit. I find that black paper makes every animal drawn on it look noble and slightly majestic.
This piece is in Prismacolor colored pencils; I chose to use that medium because they pop really well on colored paper and I can blend them together to get the perfect color I need in the fur and eye.
